"I am not. I am only 17. When one has no friends and no school outside tutors, one must divert his mind to something...I play the markets and play chess." "How you doing this morning?" "Already up ten and a half thousand," said Thad, "Looks like I should leave it be for the day, though. I can see money's already starting to slip away from the semiconductor markets..." He winced. "Commodities are taking a hit, too. I'll deactivate all conditions and sell out for now." "What's going on?" "The shutting down of Digimon Online has caused some repercussions in the markets. What little can be imported or exported has ceased, and the fact that someone has crashed that system has people wary. The last time the digital world was in such turmoil, three thousand people lost their lives in New York alone. I am signing off on the all-sell. It might cause some that watch me to panic, but I am unwilling to risk any more..."

"Oh my..." She frowned at that lost lives part. Most of what he said about stocks almost flew past her. "I just hope this doesn't get worse, or at the very least, let something better come by first."

"I gave the all-sell because it is unlikely to get better at the moment. Until then, I will not risk my future on something so unstable." "Thad..." "No, it is the right move logically...though I do sincerely hope that it gets better." "Can't you help? For the good of everyone?" "You have never met father..." grimaced Thad, teeth grit.

She blinked. "Is he really that rough, Monsieur Thad?"

" Unfailingly. When I tested in the 100th Percentile, it got worse," snorted Thad. "100th...percentile?" "No matter. My intellect cannot help me so much now..."

She sighed. "Well that's rather unfair. Everyone's struggling right now, and if you really want to help he should let you. Perhaps if I talk to him..." "Once Cathy sees a problem she doesn't like, there's no stopping her."

"There is no choice in the matter. Any number of voices would not be enough to stop him save possibly God himself. And even then, it would be a stretch." "Wow, harsh..."

"Oh my..." She pouted. "Sounds a bit stretched indeed, but I guess there's not much we can do about it, Cathy." "Hm, fine. It's still rather unfair though..."

Thad at least gave a small smile. "I do appreciate your attempt and willingness to do so, however. That is more than most would do or say." "Shouldn't we get going to the museum?" "Yes, I would assume so. Let us go, then..." He started walking in that direction, Abraham following.

She smiled back. "Oui." Then followed along. She did the same, admiring the sights around New York almost as much as Catherine.

After a bit of walking, the four came to the famous Guggenheim art museum. One of the last major works of the American Architect extraordinaire, Frank Lloyd Wright. "Magnificent...Shall we head inside?" "Hanging out in the human world is AWESOME! So much more interesting than my village."

"Oui." She nodded at him, looking amazed again. "Oh my, tres magnifique!" "No kidding." She looked around too. "It's nice to take the sights in without having to fight in town....or get eaten." "I told you not to bring that up, Floramon..." She puffed her cheeks up in anger. "Sorry, Cathy." She giggled.

"You almost got eaten?" blinked Thad, a bit surprised. "You'd be surprised how often that happens in the digital world..." "Oh, my."

"It actually happened out here. These Digimon, who resembled hamburgers, captured me and tried to make me a meal." "Buns and all. All she was missing were the fries on the side and shake." "FLORAMON!" "Ok, ok, sorry..." She rose her hand up.

There was not enough flat tone in the voice for- "...Digimon. Resembling hamburgers. You almost were eaten by Burgamon." "...since when do Burgamon actually eat people?"
