Her own self-esteem is built upon a facade of trying to act nicely and cheerfully in spite of the most horrific things, mostly as a defense mechanism. Break through said defense, and suffers from severe emotional withdrawal.
Personality:
On the surface, Jeri appears to be very cheerful and happy; known for encouraging those who are down in the dumps themselves, and not letting much of anything put a damper on her spirit. She's used to deal with situations where people act irrationally due to helping her father out at work, and takes it all with a smile. She even sometimes speaks with a small sockpuppet, to accentuate her quirkiness. Though, there is a darker shade to her cheerful demeanor...

Though she acts very much to the contrary, Jeri's story is not a happy one. Her biological mother had died a while ago, and when Jeri met her stepmother, she didn't even give her a chance, since she was still very deeply traumatized by her mother's death. Following this, Jeri began to doubt herself and dub herself as a bad person, because while deep down she knew her stepmother was a nice woman, she still felt unable to accept her and couldn't empathize with her. To hide this, she put on a mask of acting very friendly, even helping out her father at his pub in Shibuya, where she regularily helps out. She hasn't gotten completely into the Digimon craze, but she's at least fascinated by it...
