He stepped out of the front doors of DATS, arms crossed...



He joined him. "Sir...? Is anything wrong...?"



"Wait until Yoshi joins us and I'll explain..." He muttered.

As she left the building, Yoshi folded her arms. "Alright, out with it, Thomas. You know I get impatient when you're being introspective."

He glanced at Yoshi. "All right... you know we're going to continue on our investigation, correct?"



"Yes, sir."



"Well, thanks to Gennai... it's not going to be that easy..."

"...see, that's what I mean about being introspective." Yoshi remarked, as she folded her arms. "Just tell me what you're thinking about."

"That if the host of that tournament is who we really think it is... then, bringing him to justice is 95% impossible..." He stated.

"...Thomas. I was there." Yoshi remarked dryly. "You can stop being vague about it; I know who he was talking about."



"...who are we talking about?" Lalamon spoke from the Digivice.



"No one special... just part of one of the wealthiest, most influential families in all of Japan; the Jousaki family."

"Is it that bad...?" He asked.



"The Jousaki family own a powerful electronic business company that was set up after the second World War..." He said. "Although there are rumours they have connections with mafia, the criminal underworld and black markets... no evidence to back that up, though."



"Why...? Why do all that...?" He asked.



"Simple... power." He replied. "And thanks to their connections with governments, we've been ordered to leave them alone unless hard, solid evidence is brought forward..."

"...and here's the thing with the Jousaki family; with them, there's never solid evidence." Yoshi murmured. "You can always count on them to either delete or forge counter-evidence in order to make sure that they remain untouched by the court of law."



"...they're really that powerful?"



"...but we're not gonna let that discourage us." Yoshi remarked, as she glanced at Thomas. "We know people who have encountered one of their ilk; Shin Jousaki. What we need is to locate those three kids, and find out exactly what they can tell us about Shin's illegal tournament."



"...finding the one loose thread left by this guy in order to locate a weak spot?"



"Hopefully."

"Believe it or not, Yoshi... Shin is the weak point of this family..." He said.



"How so...?"



"It seems he's gotten bored with stuff, so he decided to do things like this tournament... and he gets in a lot of trouble..." He added. "Thus, the owner of the business is his grandfather... and is doing everything he can to make sure none of these problems and troubles reach the media..."



"...how angry is he...?" He asked.



"The grandfather only cares about money, power and a good publicity... I'm amazed he hasn't killed Shin yet..." He dryly noted.

"Right, right." Yoshi hummed, as she began walking. "I got this kind of stuff memorized too, Thomas."



"So, what do we do next?"



"Find the kids, plain and simple. The Jousaki family's not going anywhere, so we can keep focusing on locating a weak spot they have; namely, proof of Shin's illegal activities."

[Ninetalesuk]

"Agreed... we have to hurry though... the boss would react quickly too..." He said. "If he gets wind of his grandson's illegal activity that would bring harm to Jousaki name, then..."



"...he'll do anything he can to hide it..." He finished.



He nodded. "Correct."



"Where does the Jousaki live?"



"Shibuya."



"...should have known..." He sighed. "...so, should we go there again?"

"...wait. I thought we were heading to find the kids?" Lalamon shot in. "They're in the Digital World. If we're still looking for them, why head back to Shibuya before we've gotten them back home?"

"We were looking for the kids in hope that they would tell us who was hosting the illegal tournament..." He said. "Now we know it's Jousaki..."



"Right..."



"And as for searching for them... there's nothing much we can do..." He added. "Usually, it's not a problem... but... due to the Digimon Emperor..."

"...but if you've admitted that the Jousaki family, save for Shin, are basically untouchable... what point is there in going there? They're probably going to deny our suspicions if we don't have solid evidence."



"...it's possible that we could try to find other kids who entered the tournament to get their testimonies, but..." Yoshi remarked. "...it's likely that the Jousaki's are already trying to get them to refrain from testifying..."

"Tch... then, what should we do?!" He asked.



He rubbed his chin. "...hmm..."
