DOC US/DATS US HQ: Digital Planning

[Candescence]

In US Digimon Online Center, now also the new headquarters for DATS US...


Nanami went over the map of the Digital World. Folder was out of reach for the time being, thanks to Daemon, it seemed... However, thanks to the data she acquired from the GeoGrey Sword's handle, she could now have a better idea of where the various parts of the 'special programs' were.

Problem is, all of the continents in the Digital World were covered by the Control Spires. That would make even approaching the locations of the parts an issue, if the spires were not dealt with, first.

And DATS US had only one Digidestined with a D3 so far... To her knowledge at this time, anyway. But the Japanese Digidestined were also few in number, and clearing out all those towers would take considerable time if only they were on the job... "Hmm."

She took a sip from her coffee. Funny. She was once involved in helping destroy DATS' Japanese HQ, and fighting the good guys... And now she was helping DATS fight a new menace. Funny how these things worked out.

Brett and Brick arrived, still carrying the BlackGreymon egg.


"Look, Brick, until I actually get that advance from DATS, I can't feed you a ton right now!"


"Aw, but Brett, I'm starving!" whined Brick.


"You're going to have to, Brick, man up," said Brett, sighing with frustration.

[Candescence]

"I'm sure DATS will have food..."


"Hmm? Oh, there you are," Nanami spoke, turning her chair. "Good. Seems like you four got into another fight..."


"Yeah, a Socerymon who seemed to be working for someone... Wanted us to fight at our best," Vix noted, as they walked over. "Well, we've got the egg... Seems like nobody else is here yet."


"It seems not." Nanami took the egg, and placed it down on a soft mat she had gotten early to hold it for the time being. "I've been examining the Digital World maps, and the latest reports from Japan. It seems the Folder continent is off-limits until the original 8 Digidestined deal with another lingering threat there, Daemon, one of the Seven Demon Lords. Two more Digi-Eggs have been discovered, the eggs of Hope and Light, held by Takeru Takashi and Kari Kamiya, who have these new 'D3's as well..."


"Whoa, TK has one too, now? Lucky guy," Keith chuckled.


"I suggest you four recouperate for a while. Two Champion-level fights in a row is not common for beginners such as yourselves," Nanami noted.

"You haven't been through summer practice in Texas," he chuckled, "This was just a bit more strenuous."
Brett stretched a bit and sat down on the ground to do some more stretching.


"Miss Nanami, is there any food around here?" asked Brick, sad eyes on his face.


"Come off it, Brick, leave her alone," chuckled Brett.

[Candescence]

"I think there's a cafeteria somewhere around here..."


He looked at the maps on the large screens. Taking note of the legend on the maps... "Holy crap, that's a lot of dark towers."


"Apparently, their actual names are 'Control Spires'. And yes... It seems the Digimon Emperor, the one behind this crisis, wants to expand far and wide. The six Japanese D3 users would take a long time to destroy all these towers, on their own..."


"We have a lot of work cut out for us..."

"So that's my job eventually, kicking over tower things?" asked Brett, getting up from his stretches.


"Cafeteria!?!" said Brick, licking his lips, about to run off- before Brett grabbed him by the bill of his backward-turned baseball hat.


"Slow down you walking stomach..." said Brett, trying to discern the map, "So how many D3 users are there, I guess?" he asked, knowing that he was obviously one... "Six in Japan, me, and that Kaz guy from earlier?"

[Candescence]

"To my knowledge, yes."


"Yeah... I've met every one so far," Keith said. "Except for this Kari girl..."


"You have already met her brother, Tai, and her partner, Gatomon," Nanami noted.


"But it seems there's gonna be more..."

"Well, excuse me for being an outsider to all this, but I've barely met anyone I'm supposedly working with on this," said Brett, shaking his head sadly. This was a mess. "I don't even really know a thing about digimon or anything like that..."


"You weren't ever interested or involved in Digimon Online?"


"Nope. Not once. Busy with school and sports. I'm an FPS and sports guy, anyhow."

[Candescence]

She proceeded to bring up on-screen...


Photographs of all the known D3 Digidestined. "I imagine you will meet all of them sooner or later."


"Sheesh, nearly all of them are kids..."


"And... I have a feeling that Davis is gonna try and claim the leader role. That'll be a laugh!"

Brett's eye twitched. "I am not taking orders from a kid," he said, voice about as flat as it could be, "Not like I want to lead, but I am NOT going to take orders from someone whose balls haven't even dropped yet."


"Balls? What balls?"


"Never mind that," said Brett quickly, forgetting that Brick probably knew little to nothing about human anatomy or puberty.
"So there are only seven. And a shit ton of towers. Damn we're going to need help. And someone's going to have to pester Kaz into helping."

[AnT]

"Now now. They're only part of the Japanese branch." and stepped in the macho one, himself.

[Candescence]

"Professor Daimon," Nanami turned towards him. "I have my report. These four fought a BlackGreymon and recovered a part of the GeoGrey Sword program. And on the way back, they defeated a Sorcerymon who apparently is working for someone else. However... Something unusual happened when Keith tried to collect the program part..."


"Chains, covered in... Static, it looked like. They were constraining the handle, and I had to break them in order to retrieve it," Keith spoke. "And then things just got weird. We saw... Things. Weird visions of some sort, I could barely make them out. I not sure what they were. But they came with a chilling scream."


"Keith says the chains were wrapping up everything in sight before he broke them... But the rest of us saw only chains that constrained the handle."


"I intend to investigate this further, if I can. But there are more pressing matters..."

Brett raised an eyebrow.

"I would think, sir, considering I doubt you'd have these big buildings with all this space for only like six other people," said Brett.

[AnT]

"We just reopened the US branch." he sighed at Brett. "How did a Greymon contained a Geo Grey....never mind. What sort of pressing matters?"

[Candescence]

"Whoever created the program must have planted it onto the BlackGreymon's data," Nanami quickly noted, before moving on, "I'm certain that there is an 'Armor Digi-Egg' out there in the Digital World for Brett to find, after seeing the latest information from DATS Japan. The Control Spires and the Digimon Emperor who has created them, causing the Digimon to appear in the 'real world', are the root of our problems, and while treating the symptoms is all well and good, utilizing whatever means we have available and can acquire to destroy the Control Spires should be utilized."


"The Japanese Digidestined need help if they want to take down the Spires," Keith noted.


"That's not all. It seems this 'Prometheus', our newest and most enigmatic enemy, is mainly operating in the Digital World. There is a random pattern of Control Spires and all Digimon in the area they were being deploying being deleted entirely. And, it seems, he has allies... One of them, his 'sister', Pandora, managed to bypass DATS' Japan's security and managed to spy on a meeting between Gennai, the Japanese Digidestined, Masaru, Thomas, and Yoshino. I have already been working on updating this facility's security software. Such a fascinating enemy... I am already eager to unmask them."


"WHAT?!"
