Like the other Digidestined, she was a witness of the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon in 2002, which led to her becoming one of the Digidestined four years later. Here, she was with the others on a summer camp trip, when they were flung into the Digital World, and she encountered Yokomon, who would Digivolve into Biyomon not long after.
After Tai and Matt's partners had Digivolved into their Champion forms to protect the group from attack, the group eventually stumbled upon a village of Yokomon. Here, Sora contemplated the situation they all found themselves in, especially the fact that her partner was extremely devoted to her. This devotion shone brighter when a crazed Meramon charged towards the village and nearly destroyed it, as Biyomon Digivolved into Birdramon and stopped Meramon's rampage by destroying a Black Gear that had embedded itself into the blazing Digimon.
Later, after a brush with some Bakemon after Devimon split the group up (with her and Joe figuring how to weaken them with chants), and the subsequent defeat of the demon, the group was off to a larger continent to obtain crests that would strengthen them and allow their Digimon to Digivolve past Champion. Sora's was the Crest of Love, which she found perplexing. After Tai and MetalGreymon were sucked into the void, Sora and the gang spent the next few months eventually splitting apart from each other... but Sora had an agenda, thanks in turn to an impish DemiDevimon stirring up trouble.
Realizing that DemiDevimon was trying to create rifts between the Digidestined and their partners, Sora remained in the shadows to foil his plot; by warning Agumon that the mushrooms DemiDevimon wanted TK and Tai to eat were dangerous, hindering DemiDevimon from putting Joe in further debt at Digitamamon's restaurant, and encouraging Mimi after a nightmare she had at the Gekomon's residence. However, DemiDevimon soon turned to Sora, and merely left her with a haunting sentence; that her crest would never activate because she could never be loved.
As the group reunited, Sora finally revealed herself, but the thought of her crest remaining inactive, coupled with her assumption that her mother didn't care for her, left the tomboy to simply break down in tears. The following night, DemiDevimon tried one last time to be rid of the Digidestined, by attempting to poison Sora; however, Biyomon took the attack intended for her partner, and was subsequently weakened... and then Myotismon revealed himself; easily dealing with even the Ultimate forms of the Digidestined.
Eager to aid, Biyomon desperately pleaded with Sora, but she would hear none of it, since Biyomon was wounded. One sentence from her partner, however, made Sora realize something stunning; she was acting exactly like her mother did one time her leg was injured, yet she still tried heading for a soccer match. Realizing that her mother acted the way she did not out of scorn, but out of compassion, Sora's crest finally activated, and the Ultimate Garudamon managed to repel Myotismon long enough for the Digidestined to escape.
After this, the group rushed after the vampire as he invaded the human world, in search of the eigth Digidestined. Here, amidst the battles they fought, Sora finally made amends with her mother, before they vanquished Myotismon and his evolved stage, VenomMyotismon. After this, though, the group had to return to the Digital World to stop the Dark Masters, though the battle against the second Dark Master, Puppetmon, turned out to be the most trying for the group, as they all split up.
It took a while, but Sora, who had gone after Matt when he had left the group, eventually found herself facing some serious self-doubt, as she had taken on a task she wasn't entirely sure she could handle. This led to her being trapped in a pit of angst, much like one that had trapped Matt only moments earlier. Thankfully, both Matt and Joe were there to pull her out of her depressive state, and with that, the trio and their Digimon rushed to the aid of the others during the battle against Piedmon, and subsequently, Apocalymon.
After returning, they were met with DATS, were made honorary members, and had to deal with Merukimon, Kurata, Belphemon, the Royal Knights and King Drasil; something the other primary members of DATS could deal with for most of them, who were still stuck at Ultimate. During the Diaboromon attack, Sora had recently celebrated her birthday, but having received a hairclip from Tai, she was not on speaking terms with him for the duration. Only when Diaboromon had been vanquished did she receive his apology mail, with an added "Love Tai" instead of "From Tai", which she found to be a cute gesture; responding with a picture of her now using the hairclip Tai gave her.
Nowadays, she's busy with her tennis practice and studies, though occasionally helps her mother with her ikebana lessons. With the advent of Digimon Online, however, she's grown a tad curious, but would rather try to remain anonymous than let people know who she really is. As such, she had her online self be a boy with a mask concealing his face; taking on the name Sigma and nicknaming Biyomon to make people not suspect that he is, in fact, Sora.
