DATS Japan: Lunchtime...

"I was aware, to some degree," Sanzomon said, sitting down. "However... I am troubled by the Diablomon and his behaviour. That evolution line are normally like locusts, potentially highly destructive, especially in great numbers, but they are also generally unintelligent and can be prepared for. But this one... It was quite intelligent, clearly malevolent, and was prepared for almost anything DATS had... But we were a factor it seemingly had no knowledge of, and could never have prepared for, and thus its plan fell to pieces."

"Unfortunately the damn thing got away," said Sam, still playing, "And now that ace is thrown on the table. Looks like you're going to have to stick around, Sanzomon, because if they find that Aaren's only a Knightmon at best, they'll throw a hell of a lot at us..."


"Kid, we're not going anywhere. We can only get back if we use that dive, and it's currently busy. Besides, I like you and the kid, and DATS owes me my booze, and I ain't leaving until I collect."


"Well, thanks," said Sam.

[Candescence]

"Ultimately, yes, we should be cautious," Sanzomon said. "If we are not, our enemies will inevitably take advantage. If that Diablomon was an agent of the Digimon Emperor, I suspect he'll take notice - any serious threat to his power will likely be taken very seriously. Especially the power of a Royal Knight."

"Wish I knew a way to stay hidden. The fact that those Demon Lords can appear anywhere and peek in is really disconcerting," said Sam, frowning, stopping his play.


"And at the moment you've been seen by a couple of 'em. And a Royal Knight like Aaren is going to really get their attention."


"Yeah. Shit."

[Candescence]

"They can see a variety of places, but at the same time, they are not omniscient," Sanzomon pointed out. "Their influence has limits, and they cannot peer at what they are not aware of."

[BlueLoneWolf]

"Yeah, I'll bet good money that they figure out what the hell happened here. No way that a Royal Knight showing up doesn't show up on their radar."


"Either way, I've got to deal with the fact that Barbamon, Lilithmon, and Leviamon already know about me...though at the moment, I've got the bonus of them thinking I'm insignificant...I think..."

Sam gulped.

"Minus the fact that Lilithmon out and out SAID, TO MY FACE, that Aaren could end up being Dynasmon. She's probably got an eye on me..."


"Fricking whore," snorted Goku, "Couldn't she be more like her daughter?"


"Seriously..."

[Candescence]

"It is difficult to imagine what Riza's childhood was like..." Sanzomon sighed. "Especially with Lilithmon as a parent. I'm surprised she turned out the way she did."

[BlueLoneWolf]

"Right. I'd ask her about it, but I haven't even gotten that date yet."


"Like Aaren asked, who was her father? Anyone know? That might've had something to do with it."


"Kid, ain't got a clue."


"And how the hell did she know, anyhow?! Aaren was like a Kotemon/Dinohyumon! That's way down the line, and he's some random, well, hick from the sticks?"

[Candescence]

"She would be familiar with Dynasmon's fighting style. The Demon Lords and the Royal Knights battled so long ago. There were several casualities, including Beelzemon and Belphemon," Sanzomon said, "But I digress. I suspect Dynasmon's data subtly influenced Aaren's fighting style, and she picked up on that."

"Kudamon said something about an Exalted Essence, maybe that has something to do with it," said Sam.


"Never heard of it. Must be a Knight thing. He tell you what it meant?"


"He said to ask him later when things had calmed down."


"Oooh, long exposition rant."

[Candescence]

"It is complicated, I would say, but it is a unique part of Dynasmon that cannot be replicated - even others of his evolution line cannot attain his form without it," Sanzomon explained. "It is the mark of his Knighthood, so to speak. The Exalted Essence is likely what was passed on to Aaren at some point."

"See, she knows a little about everything."


"Right, I guess," said Sam, nodding to both of them. Kinda odd, being friendly with important digimon like this, but he figured he'd need to get used to it. "Makes sense that there'd be SOMETHING that kept every Dinohyumon from becoming a Dynasmon if they tried hard enough..."
He sighed and looked at his own hand. "But now I feel even more behind...I looked at the readouts on Dynasmon. He's WAY above my power level...I'm only a scrub and I'm carrying him around..."


"Kid, don't worry about it. You're workin' on it. You attack that like you've done everything else, you'll be up there in no time," said Goku, putting a hand on Sam's shoulder. Sanzomon, this is the good side of Goku you've been cultivating for so long really coming to fruition. He could actually be that nice.

[Candescence]

She simply chuckled, having noticed that. She decided not to comment on that, she'd let him figure THAT out on his own.


Then a certain girl came in, with a sigh, sitting down.


"Hmm...?" Sanzomon looked at her. "What troubles you, dear?"


"I feel completely useless, for a start..."

"Might have something to do with the fact that no one has any clue what to do with you!"

Sam and Goku remained quiet, as they had no idea what to say to any of that.

[Candescence]

She noticed the others not commenting, and she promptly spoke, "I try to help, and nobody wants it... I can't help it if I can only use Dark Digisoul, I just figured I could help..."


"Interesting... You cannot use normal Digisoul?"


"I've tried. Repeatedly."
