That's when Sam's digivice blinked.

"Hrm?"


Aaren yawned. "Well, I needed that."


"You were only out for a bit, Aaren. You alright?"


"I am, now would you get me out of this thing?"

Sam realized Aaren, who stretched when he got out.

"I feel plenty better now," said Aaren with a chuckle.
He blinked, "Though, my head feels funny."


'"You sure you're okay?"


"...Yes, I am...but..."
He blinked, "My memory has...new things in it that I do not know where they came from..."

[Candescence]

"I guess the fact that you're the new Dynasmon obviously has something to do with it," she said dryly.


"How do you feel, Aaren?"

"Normal, I suppose, only that I can remember some things that obviously are not mine. Shadows of shadows of memories...some indistinct faces, some names..."
He frowned and held his head, "It is...confusing. I assure you that I am fine and can fight and fill not an ounce of illness, but my brain feels like someone took a mortar and pestle to it."


"Sure you don't want to take a longer nap."


"No, I am not tired," said Aaren, "Merely...confused."


"Alright, then. Sam!"


"Right."

Aaren was evolved again, as usual.


"I still barely remember the fight...all I know is that I appeared and then there were flashes and the threat was gone and then I was back here."

[Candescence]

"Hey, Sam!" Masaru grinned and waved, as he rushed in. "I heard what you and Aaren pulled off! So Aaren is Dynasmon after all, huh?"


"Indeed he is."


"That's awesome!"


"There you are," Keith chuckled, noticing Lillia. "Come on, we're heading to-"


"The name is Lillia, and I'm not coming," she said. "It's best if I stick around here... I don't know what might happen, since I can only use Dark Digisoul..."


"Told you, Keith."


"ONLY Dark Digisoul? That's... That's nuts."


"I see... I suppose that's not surprising..."


She stepped forward, "You were born of darkness... And yet..."


"You think she's, well, evil?" Gatomon asked her partner.


She frowned, "I wanted to use my powers to counter the Digimon Emperor... I-"


"You just wanted to help," Kari smiled. "And you're concerned about what your powers might do, which is why you're staying here... I don't think you're evil. Flawed, yes, but who isn't?"


"Ain't gonna hate you unless you give us a reason to, and it'll take a lot for us to hate," Riza remarked, coming around the corner. "I guess I have a half-sister, of sorts... I guess that's not a bad thing."


She sniffed... And then hugged Kari-

Sam shrugged.

"All I did was have a laptop. Sanzomon and Aaren did all the work."


"Good to see everyone alive, though."


Aaren looked at Agumon, blinked, and shook his head.

[Candescence]

He blinked, looking at Aaren, "You okay?"


"And without that laptop, things would've ended in disaster," Sanzomon chuckled.


"You did good," Masaru smiled.


"And we'd best get going," Keith smiled. "Kari, could you help Ashe, Vix and I get back to New York?"


"I don't see why not," Kari chuckled.


"Sheesh, since when were we a taxi service?"


"Hush, Gatomon, we're the ones with the D3s..." She chuckled, walking out. "Come on, guys."


They nodded, walking with her..


"Take care, Lillia," he said, as he went out, "I'm sure things will work out for you."


"Thanks, Keith..." She smiled.


"Whew... That was crazy," Riza remarked, sitting down.

"Humans are interesting creatures. Can't say we don't fight like crazy, either," chuckled Goku.


Sam shrugged. "It was just dumb luck, Sanzomon."


"...There are...things I remember," said Aaren, shaking his head, "...Including the order to kill you if I ever saw you."

[Candescence]

"We never did fight... Aniki and I spent all our time fighting Craniamon."


"Well, in any case, you've got the power of a Royal Knight with your partner, as long as Sanzomon is with us, you can do more good work," Masaru chuckled.

He looked at Lillia, "And you... You can only use Dark Digisoul, did I hear that right?"


She nodded.


"Hmm... Perhaps there might be some positive to use to it... But it would take some experimentation, I'd wager."

"Which is something we've got precious little time or patience for," said Goku.


"That does not mean that I...Dynasmon...whoever...was not ordered to kill you if I had seen you..."
Aaren shook his head. "Some images have new meaning. Some do not. It is confusing and incomplete."


"Sure, I guess."

[Candescence]

"Still... I don't want to feel useless."


"We'll figure something out," Riza smiled, and looked at Goku. "I believe I owe you a date."


"... Huh."


"This has been one hell of a day for everyone..."


"Indeed so."

"I doubt I'll get the chance, babe. No human restaraunt is going to take us around here right now, and I'll bet Digicity's still reeling."


"Well, time to get back to training."


"Indeed, back to work."

[Candescence]

"Training, huh...?"


"I guess you haven't been in quite such a rough situation, Agumon and I aren't exactly eager to train..."


"I still feel sore from Ozma beating me up..."


"And I took on that LadyDevimon twice," she remarked. "Shame the second time it was a fake."


"She was definitely one of the Demon Lords' agents, no question..."

"My apologies for only firing two shots this whole time," said Aaren, "But what else was I to do?"


"Then you guys take a break. We're going to keep working."


"I can rest when I'm dead," said Sam flatly.

The three of them got up and nodded.

"You guys have any ideas?" asked Sam.

[Candescence]

Masaru chuckled, standing up, "Rest when you're dead... That's an attitude that I admire. That's a fighting man's words!"


"Yeah!"


"Well, I DO have an idea," Kari said, coming back, "Everyone else is leaving... Except for Izzy, who seems to be a bit obsessed with his new toy. Maybe we can talk to him about Lillia's, well, 'condition'."


"I suppose that can't hurt," she nodded.


She still was unnerved by Lillia, she wasn't used to being around a being of such darkness so casually...


"I guess that's not a bad idea. He might have a clue."


"And I want to speak with him further... I imagine there are many things we could learn from each other."


"It's decided, then. Come on," she smiled, walking out.


They followed...


"Well, that just leaves the rest of us to do something..."

"Sanzomon must be pretty interested," snorted the Monkey King, "I've never seen her attention span be this short."


"Well, it's not like we can go back into the digital world or that there's anything there for us to do; we've already got Sanzomon..."


"And you two are too exhausted to train."


"That and your facilities up there are likely unstable," said Goku, "That fight probably made a mess of all the structure in this place. Surprised it hasn't collapsed already."
