DoDDW: Trans-Continent Lmtd- Going off the Rails

The digimon (and digi-humans) of the group all devolved shortly after Hathor left. By the time they made it to the station, they were back all down to their rookie forms.


"Sweet. Love the architecture of this place."


"It is a tad eclectic for my liking."


"How long is this ride going to take?"


"A couple hours."

They had gathered up the Major, too- she had taken the opportunity to get up early and have a long morning run, so she got breakfast on the way to the station.


"I've been on the Trans-Continental Limited. It's a nice ride. Line's smooth as silk between Genesis City and Heliopolis."

And guess whoelse came along for the ride.

@reiner@ "Hey, glad you guys made it."

"Oh, you're coming too?"

@reiner@ "Yeah. Just to make sure you guys don't get in trouble." He chuckled.

"Of course..." His eyes narrowed.

He looked rather down. "I kinda miss being tall..."

@reiner@ "What's with him?"

"Don't worry about him. He just misses his Ultimate form."

[Candescence]

"This looks awesome! Let's go!" She grinned.

It didn't take long to get on the train. The whole group basically had a car to themselves- it was a weekday, and they'd all slept and ate past rush hour.

Talk with who you want about what you want. All the characters are there. Can't just start the fun right at the station

@reiner@ "So, what'd I miss?" He asked.

"Well, this is Keida. My new partner."

@reiner@ "Oh, really now?"

"Brett has a new partner too, and Brick got some new evolutions..." He counted all the events off his fingers.

[Candescence]

She waved to Reiner, with a smile.

Andorra and Brett sat down across from each other.

"Any idea what your parents will say when you bring me back to your home in Texas?"


"Dunno. Don't know if I'm going to care too much," said Brett, "It's kind of strange...you don't have any sort of family or past...we're going to have to figure something out with the Lieutenant Colonel."


"We'll figure something out for the digi-humans we manage to rescue, including you both and your two other siblings," said the Major.


"Then there's Ozma...that's a whole different story..."

"Indeed. But one step at a time, Andorra." He nodded.

@reiner@ "Nice to meet you." He nodded to Keida. "Glad things are working out for you guys."

He nodded and looked out the window. "Oh yeah. Glad we came here."

@reiner@ "Ya know, I never thought I'd see you working on a team. You used to be so...rebelious."

"Was that supposed to be a cheap shot?" He narrowly glanced at him.

@reiner@ "Not at all." He rose his hand.

"Don't worry. We take care of our own. And it seems like the Guardians all like you kids. There's a reason that two of you were chosen for D3 digivices."


"I'm still a bit mystified myself. I'm definitely the oldest to ever receive one, other than Mr. Daimon, and he's, well, got a reason."


"Lex, what do you think of the whole Ozma situation? Isn't it kind of funny that our creator held her back? I mean, for good reason, but...I think he was scared of her. That even he couldnt' control her. We were just minor failures. Thank God for it, yeah, but...Ozma's nuts."


"I'd love to see what Thoth could do with her, but I wouldn't trust bringing her here."

[Candescence]

She smiled, leaning against Kaz.

"You think he feared her?" He blinked. "I can see that. But I wonder if there's more to it than that. I feel like there's aces up his sleeve...maybe that's the paranoia talking."

He looked over at Keida. "Tired?"

"Well, this is a bit of a ride. I like the view though!" He went over to the window.

@reiner@ "This Digiworld is rather unique. I'm just glad you're all enjoying it."

"Yeah. It's pretty nice."

"You kidding me? If he kept her secret, there's got to be more secrets. Thoth already told us that Brett was right; that there were subconscious cues put in place to make us go nuts- or at least, he tried to. Thoth said they were incomplete. Probably because our brainwashing failed."


"Thoth's going to have to work on that. Vaccine that takes that out."


"What do you plan on doing with your siblings when this is over, assuming you can save them?"


"Settle down with Brett and get him into the Pros. That's about all I've got."


The Texan smiled to his girlfriend of all of a day. "You really believe that, don't you?"


"Wouldn't say it if I didn't. Where are you going to go, Lex?"

Brick and Daedalus were both napping. Yes, already.

[Candescence]

"Nah. I just like snuggling up with you~!" She giggled.

"I'm not sure yet. Still thinking on that."

@reiner@ "She's gonna be a real surprise to your siblings, Kaz."

"Oh geez..."

@reiner@ "But you are working in the US for a while, don't think they'll see her for a while."

"Well, we'll probably all have to hang together for a bit. Maybe between Thad, Brett, and all of us we can get a place while we work for DATS."


"I hope that doesn't take long, that couch sucked!" said Brett with a laugh.


"After this crisis is over you're welcome to come back here. DATS might want to get more data from this place."


"True. And we're already getting to know this area and the Guardians and people in it."
