Shinjuku - Wrath of the Ice Queen

Somewhere a bit more secluded in the Shinjuku district...



...a certain Digimon Queen was fuming. The chaos in Odaiba seemed to have been the perfect way for Renamon to achieve strength, with so many Digimon running around...

...and even after such a fierce battle... even after Renamon had given it her all...



...that pacifist had somehow managed to make his own Digimon Digivolve!



"...damn it!" Kicking at a nearby can in frustration, she folded her arms with a fierce scowl.

At that point...



...the tall vixen emerged from nothingness; gazing at her Tamer with a cool look in her eyes. "...you're frustrated."



"You don't say." Rika hissed, as she glared at Renamon. "I thought you were supposed to be the strongest. So why didn't you Digivolve like that rabbit did?"



She simply looked back at Rika without a reply; like she didn't have a reply for her.



"...hmph. And you're supposed to be strong..." she hissed, as she turned away from Renamon and began walking off.



Renamon simply watched her for a brief moment, before she began walking after her. The alley they wandered through was empty, so there was no risk of anyone spotting her by accident.

Spotted by a normal person, no...

But... by someone else...



...a lone figure sitting on top of a steel staircase, glancing down at the two with narrowed eyes. ...feh.

As the two of them walked, they were approaching the end of the alley, with a visible crowd roaming about. As Rika left the alley, Renamon vanished into thin air; leaving only a flutter of leaves behind.

"Hmm..." He got up and started to follow them across buildings... taking major leaps without a trace of fear...

As she kept wandering the streets, she seemed entirely focused on arranging her cards; almost as if preparing for whatever would come her way. It certainly seemed like she was absolutely inapproachable for the moment, due to her preconception of Renamon's strength wavering.

He kept on hopping about, waiting for the right time...

"...going somewhere?" a voice suddenly spoke behind the strange being; hopping after him.

[Ninetalesuk]

He quickly stopped, whirling around. "Eh?!?"

And there the vixen herself stood; arms folded as she simply gazed at the figure.

"Argh!! How did you...?!" He grits his teeth, shaking his fists. "And I was following you so quietly too!!!"

"Quietly enough for Rika not to notice." she noted. "I'm not that easy to get around, however."

[Ninetalesuk]

"Argh!!" He hopped onto a generator on top of the building. He scowled. "Once a pet, always a pet... this why..."



"...I'll never have a partner!!"

"Tell me, toots!" He said, arms crossed. "I've seen how that girl treats ya! She treats ya like trash!! They keep saying that when kids and Digimon are partners, they're equal... so... did she do anything equal...?"

"...you seem to be mistaken." she remarked, as she gazed towards the street. "...humans are a means to achieve power; nothing more, nothing less. We both have that kind of mutual understanding regarding our partnership."
