The doors opened, and a small bug came in. "...I take it the invasion didn't go well?"

"Right...how about some tea then?"

Before Wormmon would leave, these two entered the place, with the former looking annoyed, and the latter wounded and snacking on data.



"Well, that was a bust on our end." Neon murmured. "Keramon couldn't completely destroy DATS like he planned..." He glanced at Ken. "It didn't go well for you either, huh?"

[kelik]

"Not even a little..." He grumbled. "ShineGreymon...one of the mightiest Digimon to strike the battlefield...lost to a teenage girl."

He came in with some tea. "Don't feel bad, Master. I mean, this sort of thing happens in that show about sailor girls all the time."

"...." He put his hand on his head.

[Candescence]

Meanwhile, elsewhere in parts unknown...


"Hehe... MuhahahahaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"


"Um... Boss?"


"Oh, I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me, I just felt like laughing for some reason. Oh, well."

"...okay, yeah, that's really embarassing." Neon remarked. "So, do we have a way to bounce off this? If we can't recover from this, then we're gonna be a laughing stock instead of an actual threat."

"Don't you think I know that?!" He snapped, and looked at the screen.

'Well, at least Mari isn't around anymore.'

"...well, at the very least, the spiral was a success. But if they can trounce around Megas..."

"...you need something to counter that." Neon mused. "Something stronger."

[kelik]

"Ken's not in the mood for random guests, sorry."

"I know that. But if one of the finest Mega level Digimon couldn't do it..." He put his hand on his head. "Tch..."

"You're frustrated, Ken." He came up. "Maybe now's a good place to stop. We've had a good run, but...I think we should just quit while we're ahead...right?"

"Quit? Nonsense! Why would I do that?!"

"Other than to hope that you'll get off with a slap on the wrist, I don't really see a reason for quitting." Neon remarked. "You had a few setbacks, sure, but you're still at the top of your game, right?"

"Of course." He nodded and looked at the map. "My territory is still strong, I have the Dark Spirals..."

"Yeah, I guess, but..."

"I just need a proper force to strike back." He cut in.

And suddenly, the monitors in front of the Digimon Emperor went into static...



"In that case... allow me to make a suggestion of how to be stronger..." Came a dark voice.

"...now what's this?" Neon huffed. "And didn't the worm say something about random guests?"

"I did, maybe I should put up a sign..."

"...and you are?" Well the Kaiser himself has had more than enough random people enter in and out of his base. It's to the point where nothing phases him anymore.

"Who I am is not important... all I am is a willing ally..." Said the voice. "Now, Emperor, do you know there's a weakpoint in all controlled Digimon...? Everyone of them, ShineGreymon included, had a free will and will go against you once they reclaim them... and with the Dark Rings or Spiral in view, then it's easy to free them..."

He merely folded his arms.
