Hidden Laboratory - A Melting Facade

[Candescence]

In both the Real World and the Digital World, Professor Raidriar had several hidden laboratories. Not all of them were known to his present allies. Not yet. He didn't trust them that far.


"What you do mean, he's dead?" The professor clenched his hand around a book as he got a report from two of his other enforcers, who answered to him and his Digi-Humans...




"That's exactly what happened, sir. We found his remaining data in a field near multiple destroyed Control Spires, on Aether."


"Oh, wow, Hivolt bit off more than he could chew, eh?" Prometheus smirked, sitting back in a chair.


"And what of the data you recovered?"


"We recovered most of his memories, but the bits about who he fought are mostly corrupted... We only managed to get a few faces..." He brought up...


A few faces on-screen...


"DATS operatives..."


"Seems they managed to overcome one of the Pseudomon... Tsk. This will not do. What of the destroyed lab?"


"Obliterated. Multiple individuals apparently tried to break in, but no trace of them were found, and the camera footage that we got indicated that they didn't manage to get inside before the explosives went off. The subjects inside... Were still in their tubes when the bombs went off..."


"Then they're gone, I see... Pity. They could've been useful..."


"Eh, I doubt the process would've worked on a couple of them... Especially Andorra, that stubborn bitch," he spat.


She frowned... Four of their siblings were gone, now... "Excuse me."

She went into another room, where the other siblings were... "They're gone... Andorra, Metis, Ashe and Lex... Destroyed with the lab..."

She seemed disheartened upon hearing that. "...gone...?"



A small hum escaped her lips. "...we're absolutely sure of this?" she inquired; she wasn't the type to leave things to chance.

As if without a care, he had his back on a tech-lined pillar, enjoying a lollipop.

[Candescence]

"The camera footage brought back showed that nobody was able to get inside before the laboratory was destroyed," Pandora frowned. "Hivolt was also destroyed on Aether by multiple assailants, the other Pseudomon brought back his data, but we only managed to recover parts of his memory, and only three faces - two human, one Digimon."

She glanced aside with a slight sigh.



"Hm..." Humming, she rubbed her cheek somewhat. "...distressing."

[AnT]

*yawn*

[Candescence]

"In any case... The only thing we can do is continue with our current course of action. We cannot take direct action against DATS... We will continue playing the hero-"


"While it lasts," he noted, coming out with Prometheus. "I am certain this little ploy of ours will only last for so long."


"Sir?"


"I will be frank - I don't trust Yamaki or the Jousaki family. I expect that Daemon doesn't want Yamaki's firewall plan to succeed by any means. One way or another, something is going to go wrong. Though Analogman is a fascinating intellectual, something about him is very off-putting..."


"Heh... Trusting those guys is just asking for a knife in the back!"


"Exactly. And with HER out and about, we cannot take chances. But I know for certain now that the Digimon Emperor is merely a pawn of the Demon Lords - the most recent events that have occurred confirm this, especially with Barbamon's meddling. He's being used as a means to keep DATS busy while they do their own thing, unobstructed."


"Then, what are we going to do?"


"We'll do what we said we'd do in order to allow the firewall to be raised - we are going to dismantle Ken Ichijoji's 'empire', capture the 'Emperor' himself, and then direct DATS' power against the Demon Lords. When the dust has settled... We pick off the survivors, and claim power. Lurerre, Flammole."


"Sir?"


"Hivolt is to be revived immediately. Then, you and the others..." He turned towards the screens in the room, to see the faces...


...of the other Pseudomon, ready for orders...


"All of you are to attack the Emperor's forces and his Towers with all means neccessary. Bring back all data on his new 'Dark Spiral', and crush all opposition. Find him, and alert me and the other Digi-Humans, so we can move in to finish the job. If you see any of the Digidestined with the new Digivices, kill them, and bring the devices back to me. Avoid any DATS operatives who can reach Mega-level like the plague, they are above your level, but all others are fair game."


"Yes, sir!" They replied, as they signed off.


They both nodded, rushing off...


"I'm guessing we're supposed to be the ones to capture Ichijoji, eh?"


"Indeed. As much confidence I have in the Pseudomon, I suspect Ichijoji will have something up his sleeve. We are the ones with the power and expertise to get the job done properly. I hope my faith and expectations are not misplaced."


"Oh, we'll get the job done, right, guys?"


She nodded timidly.

As did she, glancing aside with a slight hum.



"...I've got a question." Labrys remarked, as she folded her arms. "We've still got the pawns that Analogman supplied us with. Are we gonna do something with those?"

Almost on cue, the Snatchmon emerged from a different chamber; approaching Prometheus with a slight hiss.

[Candescence]

"Aw, now you've gone and hurt his feelings, Labrys..."


You only like him because he's good at fighting... Albert thought to himself. "Ah, yes, them... Snatchmon is more than capable enough to continue working with us. The others are useful soldiers that Snatchmon can command at his discretion, he knows their full capabilities, and how to utilize them best, after all."


"Understood..."

"...hm." Labrys folded her arms with a slight huff. "As long as he doesn't get in my way."



"...until further notice..." Aigis shot in, as she looked at Albert. "...what should we do?"

A light hiss escaped its throat as it folded its arms.

"Pandora will continue to monitor DATS. Promtheus will do, well, what he usually does, and the rest of you will continue to clean up Digimon appearances in Japan. After all, we need to keep up the facade for now..."


"Alright, then..."


"Heh... Sounds fine to me."


"I should communicate with Yamaki of our progress, and our next course of action... Hopefully he will be satisfied with going after Ichijoji," he nodded, heading back into his room, closing the door, deciding to check if Yamaki was busy at the moment...

"...hm." Labrys hummed with a small crack of her neck. "Clean-up duties... why am I not surprised."



"...well... it's to help the people of Japan. Xavier would agree that it's the right thing to do..."



"Well, I'm not Xavier." Labrys huffed with a scoff, as she rubbed her neck a touch. "You'd think that we would be assigned different tasks..."

He simply hissed as he looked at the Digi-Humans conversing.



Humming, she looked to the side. "...I still can't believe that we lost our brethren..."



"...hm." With a small hum, Labrys shook her head. "I don't believe in chance. Until I can see their remains, I won't think that they're gone."

[AnT]

"Hey, the dead guy would show his carcass here if he was alive." he smirked, plucking out his lollipop.

[Candescence]

"You mean dead guys, Giro. Pural."


"I wonder..." She mused, as she went over to a terminal, and began to examine the security footage again carefully, analysing it... "Hmm. Prometheus, does this footage look a little 'repetitive' to you?"


"Eh? What the hell are ya talkn' abo-" He looked at the footage, and blinked, "Yeah, now that I think about it... It's not easy to see, but... When Andorra twitches like that, her hand seems to keep 'snapping' back to a certain position spontaneously... That's ain't right..."


"Hmm..." She rewound the footage some minutes... And then discovered... "Oh, dear... Several minutes before the self-destruct activates, the footage 'loops'. Someone may have frozen the footage and played a loop to preserve the illusion..."


"Oh, hell."
