He was the older version of Marcus...which isn't a surprise, for he is his father. However, like his age, he's more mature. Though he is a very skilled fighter in his own right, who can take down even Mega-Level Digimon by himself, with just his fists and DigiSoul, he is a brilliant scientist, having created the Digivice iC/Data Link Digivice with limited resources, one of many demonstrations of his intelligence. A man who will do anything for the sake of his family, and very hot-blooded. However, after returning home to be a family man, he grown a bit soft. But that doesn't mean his hot-bloodiness can come erupting in full force when something angers him."WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK I AAAAAMMM?!?"

Daimon Suguru is the father of Marcus and Kristy. Ten years ago, he was Earth's lead researcher of the Digital World, and was part of the Digital World Exploration Party in search for the missing Keenan Crier. He sought peace between Digimon and humans, and Mercurymon was the one to suggest that he should go to search for Yggdrasil, the omnipresent God of the Digital World.
During his travels, he managed to find blueprints of the original Digivices and used it as reference for the creation of the Digivice iC. He gave Mercurymon a Digivice iC (which in the future came to be owned by Keenan Crier) and sent Kamemon and Kudamon as emissaries to the Real World, who became Yushima Hiroshi and Satsuma Rentarou's partner Digimon, along with the blueprints for the Digivice iC and plans to set up the Digital Accident Tactics Squad - DATS.
Throughout his travels, while learning about DigiSoul, Spencer made a name for himself in some parts of the Digital World, through his good deeds, and amazing feats.
After ten years searching for Yggdrasil, he encountered a Bantyo Liomon and eventually the two became close. Upon confrontation with the Royal Knight Craniummon, Spencer evolved Bantyo Liomon to his Burst Mode and disarmed Craniummon. Yggdrasil physically appeared, seeing at that Suguru would finally be able to make peace between Digimon and humans. However, when Kurata Akihiro attacked the Digital World the first time, Spencer was imprisoned by Yggdrasil. When Spencer bet his life that it wouldn't happen again, Bantyo Liomon stood up for him and Yggdrasil gave Spencer another chance.
When the other Royal Knights members surrounded Spencer to execute him, Bantyo Liomon intervened and punched Spencer himself. After asking for forgiveness, Bantyo Liomon asked that if they were to become one with each other so that he could at the same time watch over his son. Spencer's soul was transferred into Bantyo Liomon before Yggdrasil took his body as hostage, threatening to destroy the body if under such circumstances they were to get involved in battle or reveal their true identity to anyone.
Using Spencer's body, Yggdrasil ordered the destruction of the Real World in order to save the Digital World, sending his Royal Knights out across the globe to destroy it. Masaru resolved to discover the truth of what his father had become, and embarked on a quest to find Yggdrasil again. However, much to his shock, he found out that his "father" does not recall any memories or feeling towards him. When Marcus fought against his "father", Bantyo Liomon revealed that he is Spencer. After revealing the truth, he asked Marcus to destroy himself (in Bantyo Liomon, holding down Yggdrasil) and Yggdrasil.
However, before all this, Gennai uploaded a special program to Izzy's Digivice, and was ordered to use it on Spencer's body. Izzy unleashed his Digivice's power on Spencer, transforming his Digivice iC into a prototype Digivice. The program manage to transfer Spencer's soul back into his body, at the cost of draining Bantyo Leomon's energy to stay in his Mega form. His energy was needed to kick Yggdrasil out of his body.
After Yggdrasil's final defeat, Spencer was finally able to live peacefully with his family. During the years, he acted as somewhat a diplomat between the relations of human and Digimon.
