Sydney: Ejected

[Candescence]

The Digimon Online center in Sydney was bustling with confusion about the technical difficulties. Though Digimon Online was technically in "beta testing", so to speak, so it wasn't entirely unexpected that issues would occur.


Keith sat down at a table in the lobby area, looking at his Digivice NEO, with his Digi-Droid and an SD card with program combinations on the table. There were signs that Vix was in there, but...


"Ugh, it's kinda stuffy in here..." Vix groaned, her face popping up on the screen, her voice sounding a tad 'digitized'. "Not much space, either..."


"GAH!" Keith nearly freaked out. "Wait, I can communicate with you?"


"Well, I kinda existed BEFORE we became partners, you know... I'd rather be in my apartment right now," Vix said.


"You have an apartment?" Keith blinked, picking up the SD card and spinning it around in his hand. "Huh... Neat. Look, I'll work something out...Maybe I can connect this thing to my computer, give you more space when I'm at home..."


"That would be nice," Vix smiled. "Anyhow... You saw Masaru use Digisoul. You think you could do it too?"


"Maybe? I haven't even begun to learn it... Digisoul, huh...? From what I understand, it's a power humans have that they can use to evolve Digimon..."

Keith clenched his fist, focusing a bit... And then he clicked his fingers, and much to his own surprise, a firey aura emerged, but it was... A mixture of blue and green? "Huh..."

Then he realized that the SD card was on fire. He freaked out, dropping it onto the table. The small green-ish blue flame around the card suddenly went out, the card itself seemed completely intact... "Oh, great, now I can set things on fire..."


"I don't think that was normal, Keith..." Vix blinked.


Keith blinked, picking up the SD card, and holding it in his hand, his Digisoul still flowing. The SD card once again had that flame around it, but it wasn't hot, but warm, instead, and the SD card wasn't burning at all. "Huh... Ain't that interesting..."

[AnT]

"You like to tinker things too out of your league, huh kid?"

[Candescence]

"Sometimes you gotta tinker with stuff to figure out how it works. I do that with electronics all the time. Without experimentation, you wouldn't be able to figure out what works, how things work, and why, hence why it's a vital part of the scientific method," Keith said, putting the SD card down on the table, and allowing his Digisoul to subside. He looked in the direction of the voice, asking, "why do you ask?"


She blinked, wondering whose attention they had drawn...

[AnT]

"Huh...that so, aye?"

Mused a tall, smirking man.

[Candescence]

What the... He looks like an older version of Masaru?!


"Wait a minute... I nearly mistook you for Masaru, but you look older than him," Keith blinked, looking over the man. "Who are you?"

[AnT]

"So you met my son, aye?"

[Candescence]

Now Keith was surprised. "He's your son?! Oh, wow... I'm presuming you're with DATS, like he is? Yeah, we met him... And tried to help him out when that 'dark tower' showed up..."


"He even healed me after the fight."

[AnT]

A frown, he made, thinking it over. "A dark tower. I suspected who or what planted that was causing disturbance in the digital barriers. Digimon are said to be stepping into New York."

[Candescence]

"What?!"


Keith grit his teeth, "That bastard... He's stealing the souls of Digimon and making them his slaves... And now he's causing chaos in both worlds... Digisoul-supressing towers or not, and I may not be a 'Digidestined', but I'm not gonna let him get away with this!"


"Me neither!" Vix said.

[AnT]

"Not like you can do anything in the front lines, if reports I got are true. Digi-Soul is out of the question, but you can at least keep Digimon in line, in the real world. I come to make you part of DATS in the US branch."

[Candescence]

"Well, unless we can get around that 'Digisoul suppressor' somehow," Keith noted.

Then came the offer. "Mr. Daimon, I'm in. Normally, I'd be a bit more hesitant, but I saw what's at stake. As long as I can do something..."


Vix nodded. "Agreed."


"Name's Keith Windslow. And this is my partner, Vix."

[AnT]

"Slow down there, slugger. A simple yes would suffice." he chuckled. Taking out a grey and cyan Digivice iC, he typed on it...

Vix would feel herself be pulled into that device.

[Candescence]

"Whoa!" Vix said, as she was transferred. "Huh... Feels a bit more roomy..."


"Huh... I guess those are standard for DATS operatives?" Keith asked. "Though Masaru had one that looked a bit different..."

[AnT]

"Well these are the standard Digivice for DATS operatives." he explained, tossing the device to him. "Unlike normal folks, you can bring Digimon to the real world with this. Just hold it out and say 'Realize'."

[Candescence]

He nodded, holding the iC out, "Vix, realize!"


She then appeared in front of him, blinking, as she landed on her feet. "Whoa... This is cool!"


"I know, right?" Keith grinned. "Obviously you can't just walk around everywhere, but it's neat."
