Gennai's House: The walking Plot Device

A green beam sets down in the middle of a Japanese garden. A computer boy calmly stepped out of the beam, as if it was the norm.

Followed by a little boy, carrying an armadillo. "Is it just me...or are there flying fish?"

"No, it's not just you..." He said with a smile.



"I know!!" He said, with a grin. "This is the Digital World! Everything is unusual!"



"That and Gennai's house is in the middle of a lake, underwater..."



"Oh.... I see noooooooooo...............................aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh?!!?!??!"

"...yeah; that's where we are, Davis." TK remarked with a chuckle.



"Really unique living space." Patamon nodded.



"It's quite a sight, huh?"



"Yeah, you tell them..."



Zero blinked. "...wait, who was that?"



"...I could ask the same question!" Someone flopped closer to the group.



"Tai, you didn't tell me that you got a new partner!"



"Ah- Gon?! Is that you, Gon?!"



"...no, I'm Gomamon, big guy."



"Long story..." Tai sighed to Gomamon, as he glanced around. "...the others aren't here yet, are they?"

"Ain't it just?" Hawkmon chuckled.


"Heh, it never gets old visiting Gennai's house," Masaru remarked.


"He knows how to housekeep," Kari giggled, looking around. This place had memories...


"He got any pillows? I wanna find someplace to nap," the cat Digimon said.

Stepping out of the light, he held out his Digivice. "Gaomon, Realize!!"

(FLASH!!)



"Sir, yes, sir..."



"Thomas! Gaomon!"



"Glad you can make it..."



"We came as quickly as we can..." He said.



"Hey! Your blue as me!"



"And you are...?"



"This is Veemon, Davis' partner... one of the five Digimon who can use Armour Digivolve."



"I see... and where is your partner?"



"We'reunderwaterwe'reunderwaterwe'reunderwater?!?!?!?"



"...not grabbing oxygen at the moment..." He dryly noted.



"Commander Sampson didn't told us what has happened..." He said. "Did anything happen on your side?"



"Oh, a lot..." He dryly noted.



"I see... and how is Tai's Agumon?" He asked. "Is he doing okay?"



"Ask him..." They both said, pointing at where Tai's Agumon is...

As Yoshi realized her Digimon forth, she looked at the scene with a tilted head. "...uh... where's Agumon?"



Tai glanced at Zero with a mild shrug. "...Agumon's... not here. This is Zero."



"...Zero?"



"Short for Zeromaru!"



As the two of them stood by Thomas and Yoshi, they simply looked at Zero with some confusion...



...but not as much confusion as Joe, who was more or less clueless. "...that's... that's not Agumon." he pointed out.

"So where is the old cryptic fellow...?" the bug asked, fluttering around.

"Here."

"GAHH!!!" the voice from behind even shocked him off the air.

Thanks to a tall man in a cloak...

Which he took off to reveal a handsome face that Yolei would ogle over. "Hi guys."

"G-Gennai?!" he gawked, standing up. "Uhh...worked out?"

[Candescence]

"GENNAI?!"


"... Didn't you describe him as 'old'?"


Yolei's eyes were SPARKLING. "OHMYGOSHHE'SSOHOT-" Cue a continous stream of similar blabbering.


"Yolei..." Kari sighed, nudging her.


"Ah... Sorry," Yolei laughed sheepishly.


"Well, this is a surprise," Masaru chuckled, and looked at him, and then he looked at Thomas and Yoshi, "Hey, Thomas, Yoshi, nice to see you guys as well."


Meanwhile, a certain robotic fly settled at a distance away on the wall of the house so it could get a good view of the entire group.

All of them could only gawk in silence at Gennai.



"...what's everyone so shocked over?" Zero blinked.



"...for starters, he's not supposed to be... well... this young, big guy..." Yoshi uttered.



"...Gennai, what in the world happened to you?" TK uttered as he looked at the sage with a curious, wide-eyed look.

"...G-Gennai...?" He blinked.



"You've... grown young..." He stuttered in amazement.

"That was due to you DigiDestined giving up your crests to the Digital World."

"Fascinating. Though as curious I am about that, I'm more for the reason for your summoning."

"Ah yea, it's about Daemon, and uh..." Glancing at Tai and Zero, "Zeromaru and Taichi Yagami."

[Candescence]

"Yagami? Isn't his surname...?"


"Kamiya, yes," Kari said. "I guess this 'other Tai' had a different surname..."


"What happened? Why is a whole other alternate reality practically merging with our own in some ways?" Gatomon asked.


"Something I guess Gennai here is gonna explain in great detail, I think..."


The tiny drone stayed put, occasionally moving around a bit and trying to act like a regular fly, as it recorded both video and audio footage.

"...Yagami...?" Tai blinked upon hearing that name. It was... familiar...



"Right; so you have an explanation for why Daemon's back?"



"...Daemon? Zeromaru? Yagami?" Joe uttered as he held his head. "What in the world did I miss?!"



"A lot..."



"Shush now, Joe; I wanna hear this!" Gomamon chimed in with a curious hum.



"So do I..." Yoshi remarked.

"I hope he has helpful info for us too..." He said.



"Where is Agumon?" He asked.



"Zero is Agumon! For shome reashon, Agumon became Zero and changed personality and memoriesh!"



"..........." ...that glitch...?



He whistled with interested at the stuff and stood near a wall... in front of an insect he hasn't noticed yet.



"OK, Gennai... we're listening."



"Give us everything you know..."
