"Hell, ShineGreymon or RizeGreymon could easily carry them both as well as me," Masaru pointed out. "Don't go so hard on my students, Goku."


Masaru must see some potential in those two...

Goku looked a bit nonplussed at both Masaru and Yoshino.

"What, you don't think I don't sense what's in these two?" he asked blithely, "I'm only saying they aren't ready yet. Never said they can't be. Heck..."
He pointed at Aaren.
"That one's a Knight in the making. I can tell. But he ain't there yet. And Sanzomon would get right peeved if I didn't make sure he was. So we're walking. Sanzomon don't take shortcuts. And if I did, she'd have my head for it."

Now Sam and Aaren were completely confused.

"What's with all this Knight talk?"


"Indeed, what?"


"You ain't gonna get it until you get there. So let's start walking."
Goku left, hands in his pockets. "And Angel, the trinkets!"

"...hm." Yoshi hummed, as she simply followed him out; hand clenched around her Digivice. "You heard him."

[Candescence]

"Right, right," Riza nodded, handing bracelets to Yoshi, Agumon and Aaren as they followed Goku. "Wear these somewhere where they're less likely to get broken..."


He had to put it around his neck. "Alright..."


He nodded, as he walked. "Well, let's get going, then."

Aaren took his, but didn't follow the others until they had left the room.

"Where'd you put it?" asked Sam.


"Under my face guard."


"So you have a face under there?"


"Watch it, you."


"Alright. We go west. Three thousand miles or so."


"We're walking three thousand miles?!"


"I expect we'll have to fly some of it over the oceans. But other than that yeah. We've got to walk. No one takes a shortcut to enlightenment."

As she snapped the ring around her arm where it could be concealed by her shirt, she hummed. "Seems impractical if Sanzomon intended to see us urgently..." she remarked, but she followed nevertheless.

[Candescence]

"Sanzomon kinda has a different definition of 'urgent'..." Masaru noted.


She chuckled. "Apparently so."

"When you live nigh-forever and gone through as much as we have, we sure do. But no one ever said it was urgent. I just said I had to take you to her and that she'd want to see you. Ain't nothin' said about 'urgent'. Figured it'd be best if we got started, considering it's a long walk."


"What do you think she'll say when we get there."


"Heck if I know. I just know when it involves strings of things I ain't in the habit of understanding, she seems to know plenty. So I'm taking you to her. She knows we're coming. That's how it's going to be."


"I hope this is worth it."


"By the end of the journey it will be, but more than half the payment is the journey itself."


"Huh?"


"Something Sanzomon says. Or such the like. I'm not in the habit of always listening to her."

"Right..." Yoshi remarked, as she sighed. "...hopefully, the people over at DATS won't miss us for too long..."

[Candescence]

"Hopefully we won't take too long," Masaru chuckled. "If something happens, the Commander can recall us via the Dive."


"And we can wait in the meantime," Riza chuckled.

"Regardless of what your commander wants with you four..."
He looked at Sam and Aaren.
"They stay."


"But, if my orders are to-"


"Please. You think me a fool? I wouldn't say that if he wouldn't make you stay. Stuff beyond your abilities is happening. If it comes to teaching you, Angel here and I can do that. Sanzomon can do that. Don't worry about it. The other ones are already prepared. You got that because whatever Leyline in the universe wanted you to have that, to follow on this path, and to end up where you're going. And if you had to break said line to do so, then that's what happens. Even a lack of fate is often fated."


"Sanzomon?"


"She says weird shit like that all the time."

"...curious." Yoshi remarked, before she glanced at Marcus. "Well? This is your student being left in the Digital World we're talking about. Aren't you going to chip in?"

[Candescence]

"Well... I think I can leave Sam and Aaren in your hands if something comes up," Masaru smiled, nodding to Riza and Goku. "You guys are capable enough."


"Thank you for the vote of confidence." By this time they had left the building and were walking through the streets.

"I'd hope so considering I've been working around this world long before I met you, you whippersnapper," said Goku to Marcus.


"How old ARE you?"


"Thousands of years in here, plus a bunch I can't remember. Yeah. Hard to think, but time apparently works or worked differently. I've been around the block a time or a dozen or so."

Aaren merely blinked.


"...Wow."


"Either way, can't get much done until we're out of the city. Then your lessons begin."


"Lessons?"


"Well, SOMEONE'S got to teach you something. That involves lessons, right? Well, we've got to get to them. Your first task, kid..."
Goku smirked.
"You and your little pal are going to show me what you've got."

"While we walk to Sanzomon?" Yoshi remarked. "Can't that wait until we take our first rest?"
