DigiCity: First Step to Enlightenment

[Candescence]

"Have you ever had a fight on the move, Yoshi?" Masaru chuckled.


She smiled, "It's more common when you're flying, though."

"You can make him a Dinohyumon, right?"


"I can-"


"Do so. You're going to be holding him at that level for as long as you can. I don't want you to let up."

Sam did so, evolving Aaren up to the next level.

"So, we are to battle?"


"Yeah. You and the human. On me. I'll even be the one walking backwards. Let's clear the city limits first. Otherwise even Angel here won't be able to prevent us from getting in trouble."


"Understood."


"Right."


"You two aren't allowed to stop fighting me until we rest once we get out of the city. You're going to have to learn a lot real fast. We haven't got the time to screw off."

Both Sam and Aaren nodded.

"...right." Yoshi hummed, as she let out a small sigh. Boys will be boys... she thought, before glancing at her Digivice. "You holding up in there, Lalamon?"



"I am, Yoshi. I could use a bit of practice too, though."



"Not to the extent that Sam and Aaren are gonna go through." Yoshi remarked with a chuckle. "You're just a bit rusty from no real confrontations lately."



"Well, provided we don't run into any black towers, I can still reach Burst Mode, so that shouldn't be a problem."

[Candescence]

"We're not gonna be running into any Control Spires on Gaia," Riza smiled. "Goku and I toppled one of the last ones this morning, and the rest have been destroyed by DigiPol by now. The light bracelets are being distributed across the continent in case the Digimon Emperor tries to create another foothold on the Gaia Continent again. As far as DigiPol is concerned, Gaia is now completely devoid of the Emperor's influence as far as we know."


"That being said, if we're heading west, we'll be crossing the Cronus Ocean and head over to the Uranus Continent, where there are plenty of Dark Towers..."

"Well, not necessarily. Most of Uranus is kind of dull. Uninhabited. Not of so much strategic value. Believe me, we'll get rid of the dark towers we see. I've got a personal hatred of people telling other people what to do."
He stared at his headband and frowned.


"So I take it that you're not exactly a willing employee."


"Hardly..." growled Goku, "But I don't agree a damn bit with all this other crap going on. Regardless of whether or not Sanzomon had this thing around my head I wouldn't exactly be shacking up with Lilithmon, the Demon Lords, and their ilk. Jerks, all of them. No reason to attack innocent people other than their own sick satisfaction. You don't gain anything by it other than the 'ephemeral notion of power'. You get it then you think you need more. Power's a waste of effort. It's an endless cycle wasting lives and time."


"You sure you're not the philosophical sort?"


"Not in the least," snorted Goku, "I'm just someone that doesn't get it. Ah, well. Come on, we've still got to get out of the city before I start teaching you on the fly."

With a light hum, Yoshi simply glanced at Goku. "...I suppose the simple ones are the wisest, after all." she remarked with a small chuckle.



"Wouldn't that imply that Marcus is a genius?"



"What, Marcus is simple? Pfft." Yoshi rolled her eyes a touch at that; though in a joking manner.

[Candescence]

"Well, a lot of it is desert and canyons, I guess..."


Masaru chuckled at Yoshi's remark, as they soon reached the city limits. "I may not be that smart, but I'm not that simple, either."


"This is coming from the man who thought a microwave was a scanner."


He blushed in embarrassment.

Goku turned around.

"Alright, you two. Kid, hand that stuff off to Marcus and...the hell you carrying a violin case for?"


Sam blushed. "I play the violin, alright? Calms me down. Kiss off."


"Whatever floats your boat, kid. Give it to Angel, I wouldn't trust Marcus with anything fragile."

Sam handed his pack and case off and the two nodded at each other. Aaren bowed, as did Goku.


"Alright, kid. Your first challenge is to hit me," said Goku, smirking, spinning his staff.

Sam nodded, and he and Aaren both charged, swinging punches.

Gokuwmon jumped up onto a cloud clear over both their punches.
"Yawn! Too slow!"

"...they're gonna be at it for a while." Yoshi remarked, whilst stifling a chuckle from the fact that Marcus seriously had mistaken a microwave for a scanner.

[Candescence]

"Yeah, seems so," Masaru remarked. "Hey, they wanted to train..."


"They seem rather determined to get stronger," Riza remarked.


"With all the powerful threats showing up, I don't blame 'em."

Sam and Aaren again tried to attack, Aaren swinging a blade and Sam going in with a sweep kick.

Goku got clipped by a blade and his leg taken out from under him, but he rolled back before they could get another volley off.


"Huh, so at least my intuition was right. These two might be worth it after all," he smirked. Aaren and Sam smirked right back. "See if you can do it again."[rand=683664782904088584062930126674474284629558678716424288220633752644]

Yoshi chuckled a touch. "...well, it's good to have a goal in mind, at least."

[Candescence]

"Oh, I know," Masaru chuckled.

After a while... They soon decided to stop to rest, considering Sam and Aaren would likely be worn out after a while. "Heh... That's one the tip of the iceberg, fellas."


Riza simply chuckled.

Sam and Aaren about fell over once they stopped. Goku, however, looked fine. The hit they put on him was about the only one.
(One point gained in sparring match).


"Sheesh...he's good," said Sam, breathing a bit heavy.


"I think we have a lot more work to do than what I expected..." said Aaren, flat on the ground.


"Well, you two will get it eventually," chuckled their new trainer, tapping his staff on his shoulder, "You've got half an hour. Then we start again."

Letting out a sigh, Yoshi simply sat down to relax a touch.
