She took a deep breath, closing her eyes, trying to feel for a gap, no matter how small, in her attempts to remove the ring... Come on, Kari... You can do this.


They continued to look on in anticipation as well...

As she searched for a gap on the ring, though, there seemed to be some kind of reaction... eminating from her Digivice.

All of them gasped at that.

[Candescence]

"Oh, of course!" Kari giggled, taking out her Digivice, and shone the light upon the ring. "I completely forgot about that, silly me."

However, the very instant she shone the light of the Digivice... it didn't just break apart the dark ring, it unleashed a ray of pure light that rocketed out of the sewer.

All the Divermon gawked at that; especially the one she had just freed.

As for the ray itself... well, it found its way towards where Kari had originally found herself...

"Okay, that was freaking cool," Keith chuckled.


"When they called her the 'child of light', they freaking meant it," Vix gawked.


Kari smiled wider, as she immediately got to work breaking the other rings.

Before she could get to doing that, however, the Divermon she freed tugged at her shirt a touch. "...it will... take too long like this..." he uttered. "...the source... if you could just..."

"...where... are we...?"



Angemon grit his teeth a touch. "...this place reeks of evil..."



TK narrowed his eyes. "...Kari's around here somewhere..."

[Candescence]

This surprised her, "T-The source?! What are you talking about?"


"I don't like the sound of that..." Keith frowned.

She sniffed, looking around, "I agree... This place reeks of evil... We gotta find her, and fast! KARI! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

"Hold on tight!" Angemon called, as he held the two of them to start ascending... but a shrill roar suddenly pierced the sky. "What?!"



"...what's that?!"

Immediately, the Divermon cried out in panic, and scurried further within the sewer pipe. "It's coming!"

[Candescence]

"Crap... Let's get out of here, there's gotta be a Control Spire somewhere around here!" Keith said, grabbing Kari's arm.


Vix immediately started running back through the tunnels...


"I... Yes, you're right, we can't help these poor things if we don't take it out... And we gotta find out who or what just roared..." Kari nodded, and started running back through the tunnels with Keith and Vix.

"Oh, you're kidding me," Gatomon groaned.

Quickly, Angemon flew down to set TK and Patamon down on the ground, whilst looking towards the sea. "...it's a big one...!"



TK could only gawk up at the massive beast that towered above them...



Its eyes shone red, and it looked vicious; ready to kill in a heartbeat.



"...kkh...!" Immediately, Angemon shot up into the air to prepare to battle against the monstrous being.

"Oh, boy... How we're gonna beat THAT thing?!" Her ear twitched, as she then looked to the side... And she saw... "KARI!"


"Gatomon! TK! Angemon!" Kari smiled, waving as she ran over...


Then she looked Kari over incredulously. "Kari, what the heck happened to you?!"


"LATER! We've got more important things to worry about right now!" Keith said, clicking her fingers. "Damn it! I can't use my Digisoul!"


"What the... KEITH?!"


"Tch... Two rookies and a Champion against an Ultimate... We're in trouble..." Vix grit her teeth, taking on a fighting stance.

TK just grit his teeth as he gazed up at the battle.

Clenching his hand, Angemon reeled his fist back, as holy energy amassed around it. "Hand of Fate!!!" And he shot a ray of holy light directly at the Gigadramon.

The ray struck against the monstrosity's hide, but his piercing red eyes shot back at Angemon, and he aimed his arms at the angel; a flurry of missiles rocketing at him.

"Nefertimon!" She cried out, taking flight, and launching eye beams at the dragon.

The attacks barely did much to Gigadramon, but it did invoke his ire, as he aimed his arms down at the group; snarling viciously.



"NO!" Angemon cried out, as he shot another ray of light at the Gigadramon.

The ray actually proved powerful enough for the Gigadramon to be knocked backwards; plummeting down towards the lighthouse in the distance...

...and the instant he crashed into it, it crumbled into visible, black pieces; as the guise of a lighthouse vanished.



"...that was a Control Spire?!"



"...they can be disguised in such a manner...?" he uttered...

...but with another roar, Gigadramon fired a volley of missiles at them.

"Angemon!!!" TK quickly rushed to his side; kneeling by him and shaking him to see if he was conscious still.
