DoDDW: Thad's Lab- Preparations and Activations

It was late at night in the fifth day. Brett, Andorra, Brick, Daedalus, and Abraham had all gone to bed. Right now, Wolfang, Olette, Thad, and Mulan were out in the laboratory area, because Thad was doing finishing touches on his next couple of therianthroids, and his new assistant.


"How do you want command to go?" asked Wolfang of his creator.


"You are obviously in charge of them. The others will operate as you see fit. I have no particular need for a rank structure myself, but as long as we accomplish the goal, we should be fine."


"Hrm. Indeed. I shall be ready, then."


"Do you wish our weapons ready, Thaddeus?" asked Mulan.


"Please do be ready, but do not threaten them. Not a good way to make friends."


"Yeah, casual ready, got it. Just activate a couple at a time."

Thad nodded, and flipped the switch to activate two of them.
CS has Alia. I'm Dragoon.

The dragon-looking one's eyes opened as he blinked on.


"...So...I'm online," he said, sitting up from the table he had been lying on.
He had already been uploaded with all the information on everything and everyone here.


"Indeed, Unit 2, you are," said Thad, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose.


"Unit 2?"


"You have the right to choose your own name, as I had mine."


"I brought you into being, but I have no intention of telling a full adult AI what to think or take as its name. You have record of my offer?"


"Help you and Wolfang take down Akihiro Kurata and his team of digi-humans, or at least, rescue them? Yes. I have record. Of that and your contract terms."


"And your decision?"


"I accept this proposal, Thaddeus Wyatt."
The dragon smirked a bit, "I'm your man. Call me Tiamat."


"Alright, Tiamat. You report to Wolfang."

Tiamat stood up and shook Wolfang's hand, then saluted.

"Sir!"


"That won't be necessary. I'm not running this military. Just make sure you listen."


"Fair enough."

Thad then waited on the gynoid to wake up.

[Candescence]

She herself had gone through a few design changes...




Her eyes fluttered open, and she sat up. "I'm online... I believe my internal systems are functioning perfectly."

[BlueLoneWolf]

Thad nodded.

"Indeed, internal diagnostics on Unit 3 reading all green. Welcome to the world."


"Any particular reason she looks human?" he asked honestly.


"Simply that your combat forms make you slightly more menacing. She's not made for combat, merely assistance. She does have defensive capabilities in a pinch."


"Luckily everything's going smoothly so far," said Olette.


"Right. Unit 3, your name will be...?"

[Candescence]

"Alia. Just Alia. I'll be acting as your navigator," she smiled, standing up.

[BlueLoneWolf]

"Ah, so you've agreed to the contract, too, then?" he asked, just to make clear.


"Sheesh. Wouldn't think that a guy would make robots and AIs and let them DECIDE whether or not they wanted to join them?" said Tiamat, arms crossing, "I mean..."


"ENIAC would not agree to supply me any materials, space, or anything unless I would give you completely free will. I agreed to the terms."


"Well, I'm glad..."


"Sorry, though, Alia, you don't have much to...err...navigate..." he said, scratching the back of his head.

[Candescence]

"Heh... I'm sure it would be child's play for you to make some equipment for me to use," Alia chuckled. "And yes, I accept. It would be irresponsible for me to not help stop a madman like Kurata."

[BlueLoneWolf]

"You think too much of me," chuckled Thad, "Almost all of this is reverse-engineered, not of my making. All of your AI's were made by the assistance of ENIAC and Thoth. Now I know how to have a computer program one up for me, but I did not make the program myself, completely."


"You have a talent for assembly, then," chuckled Wolfang.


"At any rate, you will be able to 'navigate' for them relatively soon. Once we get Pandora and her teleporter, I shall bring it back here and we will integrate it into our systems."


"Thad already adapted the inter-world communicators so we could speak from anywhere."

[Candescence]

"Excellent," Alia smiled. "At any rate, gentlemen, what's next on the agenda?"

[BlueLoneWolf]

"We should introduce the other two..."
But Thad yawned. "That might have to wait until morning, though," said Thad, stretching, "I am exhausted. Wolfang, you have executive ability to do so if you wish. I trust you."


"Of course, Thaddeus."


"Good night, Thaddeus."


"Good night, kid."


"Yeah, same."

Thad left, leaving the robots with Mulan and Olette.


"...Well. This is strange."
He looked at his own hand. "I am...despite myself it feels odd to be fabricated."


"Try technically being alive and being fabricated."


"We were directly made by ENIAC as well. We are not too much different than you."


"Yeah, I guess that's true."

[Candescence]

"It doesn't bother me that much," she noted. "In the end, it's not much different from a 'natural' birth that's genetically modified."

[BlueLoneWolf]

Wolfang sighed.

"At least our creator is reasonable about all this. We're getting paid HANDSOMELY."


"How much you getting a year? Three hundred?"


"Yes."


"Yeah, I'm getting two fifty. Sheesh. He's a decent guy, really..."


"'Spect that's why Sekhmet likes him."


"Wonder where she is?"

Alia was getting paid two hundred fifty thousand a year, like Tiamat.

[Candescence]

Sekhmet would be waiting for Thad on the way to the bedroom.



"That personal bodyguard job seems to pay more, I'm getting two-fifty too."

[BlueLoneWolf]

"I think it's that and the fact that I'm supposedly the commander of all this...speaking of, why not turn on the others? Or, at least, one of them? Alia, go ahead and turn them on."

Thad of course expected that.


"Think I'll get out of here, too. Time for me to get to bed."


"Indeed, me too."

The two heroes bowed out, leaving the robots by themselves.


"So. Looks like we'll be working together for a while," said Tiamat, blinking.

[Candescence]

She nodded, activating them both.

After a moment...

"Hm...?" He woke up and looked around.

"There you all are...hm?" He came up.
