"GUAAAAHHH!!!" A figure leapt right above the explosions caused by Digmon, and swung a fist directly at...



...Patamon. "GAH!" One strike was all it took to knock Patamon right out of the air and slamming harshly against the ground.



That caught TK's attention. "Patamon!!!"



"Who-?!" Before Agumon could even finish the thought, the figure swung a club against him to just knock the dinosaur right towards Tai and Davis.



Growling, the figure turned...



...and snarled at the boys Agumon landed by; eyes glowing red as a dark ring had snapped around his left arm.



Tai's eyes widened. "Ogremon!"

"Look, he's got one of those rings on him, too!!" he exclaimed, pointing at said ring.

He quickly stomped toward the green orge. "Ah got this lil varmint!"

Swiping his claws again, "GOLD RUSH!!" He let loose a horde of drills.

However, with a single bound, the ogre actually evaded Digmon's blasts, and rushed right towards the armored bug with club in hand.

With another roar, Ogremon raised his club and slammed it violently down upon Digmon the instant he got in range of the bug.

"WHO-" Stunned at how fast this Digimon moved to avoid his shots, he was left wide open for Ogremon to knock him hard onto his back.

"Digmon!!!" Cody cried, fearing the sheer skill this Digimon possessed, maybe over Digmon.


It even stunned Davis. "Oh man!!"

He couldn't take this lying down. Pulling Davis' shorts, "Davish, you gotta open up the Digi-Egg!!"

With not even a hint of remorse, Ogremon immediately proceeded to violently hammer both fist and club down on Digmon before he could recover.

"No...!" TK could only grit his teeth at this sight.



Slowly flapping up to the air, Patamon grit his teeth. "We've... gotta stop him!"



Getting back on his feet, Agumon glared at the ring on Ogremon's arm. "...we just gotta get that off him...!"



"Wha- Agumon, you're hurt!"



"Patamon, wait!"



Their words fell on deaf ears though, as the two Digimon charged right for the Champion-leveled ogre.

"PEPPER BREATH!!!" And he shot a blast of fire at Ogremon...

Truthfully, Ogremon hadn't anticipated them striking him, so he didn't have time to dodge (not to mention that the two blasts did have some shared impact)... but it didn't really matter, since they completely missed the obstructed dark ring. Roaring in rage, he turned his attention back to the two, and shot out bursts of dark energy from his fists.

"GAAAH!" Even as he tried leaping out of the way, Agumon was blasted back by that kind of strike...

"MiMI! Mimi!" Palmon cried, rushing through the open pathway of trees.


There her partner laid, on a pile of bushes as dark electricity cackled over her, especially around her digivice.

"Oh cool! We can pick out own outfit?" Mimi giggled, scrolling through the items to make her avatar. "I'll pick this skirt... that hair... hmm, those eyeliner. Wow, I look all gothic!" Mimi studied the avatar and smiled, "I totaly bad-girl... maybe I'll mess with the others a bit... wait till they meet a bad girl Mimi!"

"Um..." she wasn't so sure. "You feeling okay?"

"Oh," Looking down at her digimon, she had an evil smile. On her belt, her digivice had a vile aura before darkening. "Its Mari, remember?"


She still had doubt, but then Palmon's eyes flashed red for a moment too before turning back to normal, only with a evil smirk, "Right, Mari!"

He was just beaten like a rag doll, knocked around the ground as so. His armor kept cracking from every hit.

"Digmon!!!" he cried in sheer shock, witnessing cruel brutality. This was not how he visioned Digimon acting as.

"No!!" And after seeing the Rookies getting blasted, he didn't know what he could do now.


"Alright, big guy!!" Veemon cried, leaping in front of the large orge. "Let'sh see how you fight sh'omeone not even close to half your size!" And he shot like a bullet, head first. "V-HEADBUTT!!!"

He then rushed into the fray, swinging a haymaker at Ogremon, "Getting into a battle against a stronger opponent... To help your friends! That's a true man's way!"

"Shall we get ourselves involved, now?"


"No... we both know we can't do anything against them at the moment." Mari frowned, "C'mon, we have a new 'friend' to meet."


"Of course." She nodded, the two stepped back and vanished behind the bushes.

"Veemon!!!" This felt like fighting Ken, only that was just a friendly duel. This is a battle to the death....at least in Ogremon's sense. But no way he was going to feel weak again. Sure, he could've went out to train before joining a tournament, but he wanted to prove how strong he was, on his own.

Well no way this guy, and whoever was controlling him, was going to push him around, or his friends.

"You want courage?!" he shouted, grabbing his digi egg. "I'll show you courage!"
